One part of making our song choice was whether we could gain permission from the artist to use their music. If the artist said no then it would be breaching copyright laws to use their composition as part of our coursework. We got in touch with a band we had found, called ‘8 Track Stereo’, through contact information found on their Myspace account. We emailed the band on the 14th of September and they replied soon after. This is a copy of the email convocation had between us and our chosen artist:
As shown by the email ‘8 Track Stereo’ gave us permission to use their song ‘What I Want’, so this will be the song that we make a music video for in our A2 advanced portfolio.
